PURPOSE OF THE Directory

This is a database of artists performing live music in Second Life. Each post has identical headings although the amount of information on each artist varies. I hope the headings are comprehensive enough to provide useful information for a variety of people.

The Directory is searchable alphabetically, by artist, genre and country . . . . see more down the right hand side.

In some cases I have also reviewed the artist in my linked blog - Live Music In Second Life. This is flagged up for you.

New artists are continually being added as time permits and as I listen to them. Let me know if you wish to be added.

fran6 Parkin

fran6 Parkin is a french song writer and composer.  He performs in SL and real life and plays his originals on guitar, keyboard and loop station live.

Influences: Talking Heads, Men at Work, Joe Jackson, David Bowie, L'affaire Louis Trio, Kent, Richard Gotainer, Peter Kröner ... Jazz, swing, funk, world music ....

He says his songs "are slices of life where the character he created is the notorious anti-hero who puts the feet in the carpet when it should not .... Leaving the greater part to women ... "

Multi-instrumentalist (bass, guitar, keyboards, percussions, drums ...)  he has recorded two albums in the last two years with his best friend and pianist multi-instrumentalist, Mr Philippe Mayne.

He has been a bassist in a band of oriental music for two years, there are all sorts of musical influences, with a jazzy side always present. Without doubt inherited from his father who was a pre-war saxophonist and his uncle a flautist in the orchestra of Ray Ventura.
